How do I cancel my subscription?
On your iPhone: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Subtext → Cancel Subscription. You can also do this from inside Subtext: Profile → Manage Subscription.
Are my texts stored anywhere?
Your decoded conversations are stored only on your phone. They never sit on our servers. The text you submit is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) momentarily to generate the analysis, then discarded. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How accurate is Subtext?
Subtext uses Claude Sonnet 4.5 — one of the most advanced AI models available. It's good at picking up tone, common patterns, and likely intent. But it's an opinion, not a fact-machine. Use your judgment, especially for important decisions.
Why don't free decodes refresh daily?
We give you 5 lifetime free decodes so you can really test the app. After that, a subscription unlocks unlimited use. Each AI call costs us money — sustainable pricing keeps the lights on.
I bought a subscription — why doesn't the app know?
Open Subtext, go to Profile → Restore Purchases. This forces the app to check with the App Store. If it still doesn't work, make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used to buy.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request one.
Is Subtext available on Android?
Not yet. Subtext launched on iOS first. Android is on our roadmap — sign up for our newsletter (coming soon) to be notified.
